About Us
For well over 100 years, the Ewart name has been associated with international business success. In the Victorian era Ewart was the largest linen manufacturer in the world but as that industry declined Ewart switched its focus to its large property assets, mainly in Belfast. The company grew its asset base and traded as the publicly listed Ewart plc, and following acquisition by Dunloe House plc, became Dunloe Ewart plc in 2000. The current owners then purchased William Ewart Properties Limited which included the Northern Ireland and GB portfolio from Dunloe Ewart in 2002.
William Ewart Properties is owned by two of Ireland's best known property people, Frank Boyd and Andrew Creighton. With extensive assets through separate companies, Boyd and Creighton came together to acquire the Northern Irish and British assets of Dunloe Ewart plc in 2002 for £100 million.
Since then and with assets in excess of £1bn, the company has successfully traded properties and has made a number of major property investment acquisitions. The portfolio includes:
Since 2002 the company’s property development stock has grown substantially and has been actively worked to prepare it for development. A £500m development and property investment plan is now underway comprising integrated regeneration schemes such as Royal Exchange in Belfast and landmark residential, retail and office developments at various prime sites in Belfast, London, Edinburgh and Wales.
